Dr. Haltom received his dental and orthodontic training from the Dental School and Orthodontic School of UMKC from 1964 to 1970. He went on opened his private practice since 1970 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    He has many leadership roles and was the past president of the following associations:
        Albuquerque District Dental Society
        N.M. Orthodontic Society
        Denver Summer Meeting
        RMSO
        Alexander Study Club of America
        Southwestern Angle Society
        College of Diplomates American Board of Orthodontics

    In addition to provide consultancy to iAOI, he is currently the Board of Directors of the E. H. Angle Society as well as ABO Certification and Guest Examiner – ABO.

    He currently holds membership of the following associations:
