Dr. Larry White
Dr. White graduated from High School in Hobbs, NM in 1951 and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1955 with a B.S. degree in biology.
In 1959, Dr. White graduated from Baylor Dental College with a D.D.S. degree and then served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1961. He then practiced general dentistry in Hobbs, New Mexico from 1961 to 1966 and subsequently returned to Baylor Dental College to receive a M.S.D. degree in orthodontics in 1968. He returned to Hobbs to practice orthodontics exclusively. Dr. White had orthodontic offices in Hobbs, NM; Roswell, NM; and Denver City, TX.
Dr. White is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, The Southwest Society of Orthodontists, The American Association of Orthodontists, the Texas Orthodontic Study Club and the Southwest Angle Orthodontic Society. Dr. White is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists and a fellow in the American College of Dentists. He has been a director and president of the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists. He is a past president of the New Mexico Orthodontic Society and the Texas Orthodontic Study Club. He serves a s manuscript reviewer for the Angle Orthodontist. He was editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics for 17 years. In 1988, Dr. White received the International College of Dentists Golden Scroll Award as editor of the most improved dental journal in dental literature (The Rocky Mountain Orthodontic Newsletter). Dr. White has contributed more than 100 original articles to dental literature and has presented lectures to several orthodontic societies, universities and study clubs. He has also lectured in over 35 countries throughout the world.
He was the first director of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio Orthodontic Residency Program. He is now an associate editor for the World Journal of Orthodontics and a contributing editor for the Orthodontic CyberJournal. Dr. White has also served as Editor of the Dallas County Dental Society publication, Dateline. He now practices orthodontics in DeSoto, TX and serves as an adjunct professor of orthodontics at Baylor Dental College in Dallas, TX.
Dr. White and Lue Low, who is also a graduate of the University of New Mexico and Hobbs High School, were married in 1954. They have two children, Leslie and Craig; four grandsons, Alexander, William, Samuel and Michael and two granddaughters, Katherine and Paige.
