Dr. Steffen received his bachelor of Science from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, and doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Iowa in 1972 and completed his Master of Science, Certificate in Orthodontics, St. Louis University in 1974. Since then he has begun his full time practice of Orthodontics in Edmond, Oklahoma since 1974. In 1985 he became Board Certified Orthodontist with the American Association of Orthodontist in 1985. He was three time winner of the A. P. Westfall Award at the Texas Tweed Meeting. Dr. Steffen  lectures and publications whenever coerced into doing so.
