Dr. How Kim Chuan
Dato’ Dr How graduated from Singapore in 1991. He went on to specialize in Orthodontics in London in 1993. He is also well qualified in Oral Surgery. He possesses a number of post graduate qualifications in Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Implantology as well as Laser Dentistry. He is a now a Fellow as well as a Diplomate for the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons for Orthodontics as well as Oral Surgery. Dr How is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia College of Dental Specialists. He is the Key Opinion Leader for Straumann in Malaysia as well as the Course Director for Osstem implant system in Malaysia. Dato’ Dr How is also the Founding member as well as the Vice-President for the Malaysian ITI Society. Dr How is also a Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute as well as a Certified Laser Trainer for Biolase. He is also the Malaysian Country Representative for World Federation of Laser Dentistry.
Dato’ Dr How is currently the Immediate Past President of the Malaysian Dental Association. In the international arena, he is the Chief Editor of Asia Pacific Dental Federation.
In the 99th FDI World Dental Federation General Assembly, Dato’ Dr How was elected as the FDI World Dental Councilor.
Dato’ Dr How is also very active in lecturing orthodontics, implants, laser, aesthetic dentistry and dentine hypersensitivity in the national as well as international arena. He has lectured extensively in Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Nigeria, China and Korea. He is also the FDI Speaker as well as Key Opinion Leader for Oral B, Sensodyne and Listerine.
Dato’ Dr How also actively conducting clinical orthodontic training courses in the region. He also conduct implant training courses in many countries.
Dato’ Dr How Kim Chuan was appointed by the Minister of Health as the Board Director for the Malaysian Health Promotion Board in May 2010.
Dato’ Dr How received the covetous DIMP Award which carries the title Dato’ from the Sultan of Pahang in October 2010. He also received the Outstanding Overseas Chinese Award conferred by Chinese Stomatological Association during the 1st Global Chinese Dentists Congress in Dec 2010.
